Tenford Chitanana is an independent filmmaker and Artistic Director and Founder of the Zimbabwe Youth Festival, a platform aimed at bringing youth and youth issues to the fore using performing, fine and visual arts. In 2007, he graduated with an honours degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Zimbabwe. He took an interest in young people and development communication, which has seen him working on several projects related to youth participation in community development processes. Certified by the New York Film Academyʼs Universal Studios Campus in February 2011, he has done video projects for several organisations. His projects have a bias towards development and an expression of marginalised people's stories. Tenford also runs a social marketing, video and photography production start-up and provides consultancy services to various organisations regarding new media and non-conventional communication. His short documentary film Toindepi;Reflections from Discarded Generation, won an award for best documentary at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival, 2012.
